QPWS has commissioned JHLD to prepare plans for upgrading the Chance Bay campground, south of Whitehaven Beach. The campground is located just above the lovely, peaceful Chance Bay beach, which can be accessed via boat or by a short trek along the new Ngaro Great Walk Track, approximately 1.6k southwest of Whitehaven Beach.
This is a small campground with a total capacity of twelve people across four camping nodes and is ideal for couples or families who want a private and peaceful camping experience.
Plans are past the concept stage and detailed plans are being finalised now, with construction due to commence soon.
